Welcome to Moon Haus, a Joshua Tree retreat built for groups who like their downtime with a little competition. THE SPACE

Moon Haus is designed around the way larger groups actually travel: plenty of sleeping space, comfortable common areas, and enough things to do that everyone can find their own rhythm. The six bedrooms include eight queen beds in total, all with memory foam mattresses. The primary bedroom has an en-suite full bathroom and Smart TV, while Bedrooms 4 and 5 also have their own Smart TVs. Two additional full bathrooms serve the rest of the home. The living room is made for slower evenings, with an oversized sectional, 65-inch Smart TV, and electric fireplace. Nearby, the fully equipped kitchen and large island give the group a natural place to gather over breakfast, drinks, or dinner before heading back outside.

OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE

At Moon Haus, the backyard is not just somewhere to sit between plans, it is where a lot of the trip happens. Spend the afternoon moving between the private pool and spa, mini golf course, and bocce court, or settle beneath the cabanas when you want to slow things down. The meditation deck and yoga mats offer a quieter corner for stretching, coffee, or an early start before the rest of the group wakes up. As the sun goes down, fire up the BBQ, gather for dinner outside, and move to the built-in fire pit for the kind of evening that needs very little planning.

GOOD TO KNOW

BBQ GRILL

Our BBQ grill runs on propane gas, which we provide, so there’s no need to bring your own.

POOL HEATING

Pool heating is available with at least 24 hours' notice. The fee is $180/day from May through September and $250/day from October through April.

SPA

Spa heat is included at no additional charge.

PETS

Up to two dogs are welcome with a $100 fee per pet, per stay. All pets must be disclosed before arrival.

PARKING

Parking is limited to a maximum of 4 vehicles. All vehicles must remain fully within the driveway/designated parking area. Street parking is not permitted.

POOL SERVICE

Routine pool service takes place Mondays and Thursdays between approximately 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The technician accesses the outdoor area only.

DELIVERIES

Packages cannot be accepted at the property. Please use a local post office hold or nearby package locker service if needed.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

We want every guest to enjoy Moon Haus safely while helping us keep the home in great condition. Please review the following before booking.

PARTIES, EVENTS & EXTRA GUESTS

Parties and events are not permitted. Maximum occupancy is 12 guests. Please disclose visitors or additional overnight guests in advance. Approved extra overnight guests are $50 per person, per night.

POOL & SPA SAFETY

Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times while using or being near the pool and spa. No diving or glass is permitted in the pool area. Please use the pool and spa responsibly and at your own risk.

PETS & POOL

Pets are not permitted in the pool or spa. Guests are responsible for their pets at all times, including any damage or additional cleaning caused during the stay. For their safety around cactus and desert wildlife, pets should remain leashed and supervised while outside.

DESERT WILDLIFE

Moon Haus is located in a natural High Desert environment. Insects, rodents, snakes, spiders, and other wildlife may occasionally be encountered. Please keep doors closed when possible and remain aware of your surroundings. Encounters with wildlife or insects that are part of the natural desert environment are not grounds for a refund.

PLUMBING & SEPTIC SYSTEM

Moon Haus uses a septic system. Only toilet paper may be flushed. Improper use resulting in clogged or damaged plumbing may result in a $200 repair fee.

NO SMOKING

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted inside the property or within 15 feet of exterior doors. Failure to follow this policy may result in a $100 additional cleaning fee.

SECURITY CAMERAS

In accordance with insurance company requirements, exterior security cameras monitor the front and rear entrance areas for guest and property safety. All security cameras are located outside the property. There are no cameras inside the home. Cameras may not be tampered with, covered, or disabled during your stay.

PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO & COMMERCIAL USE

Personal photos and videos are welcome, and you're welcome to tag @visithideaway. Drones are not permitted. Professional, promotional, commercial, or revenue-generating photography and filming require prior written approval and may be subject to production fees. Unauthorized commercial shoots may result in reservation cancellation, a $5,000 violation fee, and applicable production fees. If you're unsure whether your shoot qualifies as commercial use, please contact us before booking.

LATE CHECK-OUT

Check-out is at 11:00 AM. Guests who remain at the property after 11:05 AM will be charged a $75 late check-out fee for every 30 minutes past the check-out time.

DAMAGES

Accidents happen. If anything is damaged, broken, or seriously stained during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible so our team can assist. Guests are responsible for damage resulting from misuse or failure to follow property guidelines.

Access

You'll have private access to the entire home and its guest amenities during your stay. The property uses a smart lock. Your access code will be sent before arrival and will activate at check-in time.

Neighborhood

Moon Haus is located in Joshua Tree, with downtown Joshua Tree and Joshua Tree National Park within easy driving distance. The location makes it easy to spend the day exploring the High Desert while still having a backyard full of activities waiting when you return.

Transit

A car is recommended for exploring Joshua Tree and the surrounding High Desert. Moon Haus offers on-site parking for up to four vehicles in the designated driveway area. Street parking is not permitted.
